Institutional
BAA Framework
Under HIPAA regulations, NorthStarClaim operates strictly as a Business Associate to covered entities and institutional health agencies.
Our standard, corporate-signed Business Associate Agreement is fully integrated into our digital onboarding sequence to eliminate administrative delays.
PHI is never persisted on our servers. Our AI Clinical Infrastructure operates on a stateless architecture, ensuring zero persistent storage of sensitive data.
1. Scope of Agreement
This Business Associate Agreement ("BAA") is entered into by and between NorthStarClaim ("Business Associate") and the healthcare provider or entity ("Covered Entity") utilizing the Enterprise Intelligence Hub services. This agreement ensures the protection of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA and HITECH requirements.
2. Transient Data Processing
NorthStarClaim processes clinical data transiently to perform claim work. Data is not retained after transmission to the clearinghouse and is not archived in any database controlled by the Business Associate.
3. Obligations of Business Associate
- Use appropriate safeguards to prevent unauthorized use or disclosure of PHI.
- Report to Covered Entity any breach of unsecured PHI in accordance with 45 CFR § 164.410.
- Ensure that any subcontractors that create, receive, maintain, or transmit PHI agree to the same restrictions.
- Provide access to PHI in a Designated Record Set to the Covered Entity as required under 45 CFR § 164.524.
